Refund Policy

Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy

Legal Entity
ChessCurve School of Excellence Private Limited

Brand scope: This document applies specifically to ChessCurve. Customer and grievance requests for this brand must use admin@chesscurve.com.

01

Scope and precedence

This policy applies to paid programmes sold under the brand named on this document. The programme page, checkout screen, written offer and enrolment confirmation should clearly disclose the applicable refund conditions before payment.

Where a specific offer or written programme agreement gives a more favourable refund right, it will apply subject to applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer remedies.

02

14-calendar-day money-back request if the learner does not continue

Company policy: an eligible learner may request a refund if the learner decides not to continue or return to the programme within 14 calendar days from the first scheduled paid class or programme start date, whichever occurs first. The parent/guardian or adult learner should email the relevant brand contact within that 14-day period.

The request should include the learner/customer name, registered email or phone, enrolment/order ID, program name, payment reference and a clear statement that the learner will not continue/return and is requesting the 14-day money-back refund.

For an eligible request made within the 14-day period, the Company will refund the programme fee paid, subject only to deductions or exclusions that were clearly disclosed before purchase, are permitted by law and do not contradict an advertised money-back guarantee. No hidden restriction should be added after purchase.

The Company should acknowledge the request and confirm approval or explain the reason for any refusal in writing. Non-attendance by itself may not notify the Company of a cancellation; the customer should send the request within the stated window. Statutory rights for deficient, misrepresented or undelivered services remain unaffected.

03

Requests after the 14-day window

After the 14-day period, completed classes, completed assessments and consumed/delivered/Non delivered digital services/Payment are not refundable unless the specific program terms, the Company or applicable law provides otherwise.

The Company may, at its discretion, consider a partial refund, transfer or account credit where the programme terms allow it. Any decision must be applied fairly and consistently with the terms disclosed before payment and applicable law.

04

Cancellation, rescheduling and missed classes

Cancellation requests should be sent to the official brand email as early as possible. The date the request is received should be recorded.

Rescheduling or make-up classes depend on coach, batch and calendar availability. Missed classes do not automatically create unlimited make-up sessions or a cash refund outside the applicable refund entitlement. Any notice period or limit must be disclosed before purchase.

If the Company cancels a class, it should offer a replacement session or reasonable alternative. If the Company cancels a programme permanently or is materially unable to deliver the paid service, it will offer an appropriate replacement, transfer, credit or refund consistent with the contract and applicable law.

05

Duplicate, failed or incorrect payments

Customers/Students should report duplicate, failed or incorrect transactions promptly with the transaction ID, date, amount and proof of payment. Once validated, excess or erroneous payments will be returned through the original payment method or another lawful method.

Approved refunds will be initiated within the time required by applicable law and payment-system rules. The actual credit date may depend on the bank, card network, UPI provider or payment gateway. The Company should keep a record of the refund initiation and reference.

06

Fraud prevention and statutory rights

Fraudulent transactions or knowingly false refund claims may be investigated. This does not prevent a customer from making a genuine claim or using statutory consumer remedies.

The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and applicable rules may provide remedies for deficient service, misleading representations, unfair trade practices or other legally recognised grounds. This policy is not a waiver of those rights.

07
